Soy-based sub-production project

This project is a pilot project of the National Food Production Program 2016-2018.Initiated in June 2017 the main objective of the programme is to uplift the nutritional status of the locals. Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya provided the research and Technology Contribution for the project. Under this project three products are made based on soy beans.

  • Fortified fiber enrich biscuit
Under this program two types of soy biscuits are produced.

Soy Incorporated Regular Biscuits Ingredients:

  • Rice Flour - 25%
  • Soy Flour -  10 %
  • Finger millet Flour - 5 %
  • Wheat Flour  - 50%
  • Corn Flour – 5%

Soy Incorporated Fiber Enriched Biscuits Ingredients:

  •  Rice Flour - 25%
  •  Soy Flour -  10 %
  •  Finger millet Flour - 10 %
  •  Wheat Flour  - 45%
  • Atta (Whole Grain) Flour- 5% ·

- Instant cup Noodle with mixed vegetable·
- Soy Milk drink with under-utilized fruit
